On 17.02.2015 at the University Hospital in Krakow Paweł Latacz, PhD., MD., done thrombectomy of right pulmonary artery in a 31 year old patient with bilateral submassive pulmonary embolism. So far fibrinolytic therapy was effective only on the left side. The right pulmonary artery, despite medication, was still occupied in proximal part by thrombus, which results in amputation of the lower section of the right lobe in the X-ray imaging. After 2 minutes of work of the AngioJet PE catheter most of the thrombus was removed and that improved blood circulation in the whole right lung. Symptoms of pulmonary embolism resolved completely, and the patient in good general condition was discharged from the hospital.
